Pork lead lard, ready to render to make the best pie crust possible, other pastries, or to use in place of butter in cooking. To render: cut into 1 inch pieces, place in crock pot on low with 1/4 cup of water for 24 hours. Stir every 6 hours or so to prevent sticking to the outside or bottom of pan. Pour over cheese cloth into jar to filter out pieces etc. It will last 1-2 months on counter or if you store in fridge it will last 6-8 months.
